OTK at Macys Union Square Cellar

MACY'S UNION SQUARE CELLAR
Join us on Wednesday June 11th at 6pm, when Macy's will highlight Out of the Kitchen spring issue! Each season, OTK's editor-in-chief (and executive chef and owner of Maverick), Scott Youkilis, will bring one of the stories straight to your taste buds with a live cooking demo in The Cellar. This month he is hosting a true expert and connoisseur: Connie Green, a well-known local forager of wild mushrooms, who supplies them to many of the Bay Area's finest restaurants. You'll be treated to a taste of hard-to-find morels prepared by Scott and paired with a glass of wine chosen by Maverick's wine director and co-owner Mike Pierce.
Macys is located at 170 O'Farrell St. at Stockton.
The event is Free!

Run and get the Spring 2008 Issue, NOW!!

Last Thursday, the OTK staff of contributors got together to celebrate the release of Issue 2 - Spring 2008. The turnout was fantastic! Foodies and industry folk turned out in solid numbers to sign up for their 1 year subscription and support this great new project.

A huge THANKS!! goes out to all the donors. Carl Sutton of Sutton Cellars got to introduce his Rattlesnake Rose in a keg (yes, a keg!), 2006 Bennett Valley Syrah and 2006 Carignane. Boccalone made their donation with killer salumi and Maverick cooked up meatballs, various canapes and fresh bread for dipping in Davero Olive Oil. Trumer Pilsner iced down beers and quenched the thirst of all in attendance.

We also added a Pay Pal button to the top of the column to the left to make it even easier to subscribe.

Stay tuned as we start release more pictures, recipes and stories that we have collected since our fabulous beginning.
